Mohtashim H. Shamsi
I am the captain of MEB Team. I joined the SIUC faculty in fall 2015 as an assistant professor. I obtained my PhD from the University of Toronto at Scarborough (2012) and completed postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Toronto, St. George campus in 2015. My current research interest lie at the interfaces of electrochemistry, biosensing, and microfluidics. I enjoy reading books and  spending time with my family. You can find more about me at CV,  Research Gate, Google Scholar, and
Linkedin.

I am a senior PhD student at the MEB lab. I joined the group in fall 2016 to pursue degree in analytical chemistry.  I obtained B.Sc. degree in 2014 from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. I gained research experience in an agrology lab to develop method for analysis of water, soil and fertilizer. My current research interest is to characterize DNA repeat sequences and develop biosensors to detect the neurodegenerative trinucleotide repeat biomarkers. I like to spend time with friends, cooking, and playing chess.

I am a PhD student of the MEB lab. I completed B.Sc (Hons) and MS from Shahjalal university of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh. I have been working as a scientific officer in Bangladesh council of scientific and industrial research (BCSIR) since February, 2013. I am interested to do research on biosensors and micro -fluidics. In my free times, I like to walk through forest, play card and listen music.

I am PhD student at MEB lab. I completed my M.Sc. in analytical chemistry From Federal Urdu University, Karachi with research in
electroanalytical chemistry. Then, I earned MS in chemistry from National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad Pakistan with
research in preparation of graphene and its application in electrochemical biosensing. In MEB lab I am currently working on electrochemical
biosensing of DNA repeat sequence. I like to play cricket and badminton. Writing, sketching and sculpting are my hobbies.
